Abstract

Emotions plays an important role in an individual’s life and also acts a greatest role in developmental phase of adolescence, during this phase if an adolescent experience any form emotional abuse like verbal aggression, Manipulation behaviour by others, blackmailing, and controlling individuals by teachers, parents, or peers affects individual’s mental health. These challenges might disturb their performance as well as motivation academically. The present paper aim to study prevalence of Emotional Abuse and its relationship between Academic perseverance and Achievement motivation among adolescents. The participants for the study consisted of 100 adolescents of age group between 18-21 years. The sampling method used is convenient sampling method and survey sample research design was adopted for the study. The tools used for the study are Academic perseverance by Blerkom. M (1996), De-Mohan’s Achievement motivation scale and emotional abuse scale developed by Momtaz. V. The statistical analysis used are Multiple correlation And Linear regression. The results and discussion, limitations and scope for the further study is discussed in detail.
